Villa Castelletto Parenzana is positioned along the famous Parenzana cycling route. The cycling route runs where the 123 km long narrow-gauge railway from Trieste to Poreč once ran. The route got its name from the word Parenzo – as the Italians call the city of Poreč, which is why it is also called Porečanka. The railway was the main connection between the inland and the coastal areas and greatly contributed to the economic development of Istria. The railway was closed in 1935, but despite only 33 years of operation, it left an indelible mark on the entire area. Traveling along it is a unique cycling experience, as you will feel the pulse of the idyllic Istrian villages.
At Villa Castelletto Parenzana, we also offer you the option of renting electric bicycles for an additional fee, with which you can ride through the idyllic valley of the Dragonje River and feel the pulse of Istria.
